Richard ANTILHOMME

Born in 1922 in Petit Trou de Nippes. Antilhomme didn't start painting until he was 50 when Tiga, a famous Haitian artist, brought him into the Saint Soleil circle. Malraux mentioned him in L'intemporel as one of the finest artists. He paints vodou inspired themes in a raw and naive formats. He has participated in many exhibits.Saint Soleil was founded in the early 1970's under the direction of Tiga (Jean Claude Garoute) and Maud Robart, promoters of this movement in Soisson-la-Montagne (approximately 50km from Port-au-Prince). 
Saint Soleil gained international recognition when Andre Malraux visited the community in 1975. Andre Malraux immortalized the movement by featuring Saint Soleil in his book "L'Intemporel".
